A Bit About the blog

The density function you see up there marks, in a way, the beginning of my journey into my passion for math and computational stuff. One day, perhaps, I'll share its story here too, and how I derived it—but that's not what's important. What truly matters is what it represented: a challenge to curiosity.

But curiosity often fades, and if it's not accompanied by the determination to "see things through," the risk of becoming superficial is high.

That's what this blog is, in a way: an attempt to chip away at the widespread superficiality.

Simplifying to make things more accessible is a trap: every time you simplify, you introduce inaccuracies, which then propagate and often lead to serious errors.

Real results require effort.

What to expect

What are you going to learn?

So why should you read the blog?

Why Foglietti?

Sorry if I let you down, but the blog is a space I created to learn from your comments on the posts. If you truly want to learn something, enroll in university or check out the many online courses from MIT or Stanford—they're free and of incredibly high quality.

The best way to learn is to teach," as Feynman used to say. If you're reading my posts, chances are you know more than I do — and if you spot any mistakes or inaccuracies, often those interactions lead to interesting discussions that everyone can benefit from.

I tend to talk a lot, increasing the risk of saying silly things. Writing on paper helps me focus and be concise. A "foglietto" says more about me than a traditional bio.
